Treatment of Trichostrongylus Orientalis Infectious with Pyrantel Pamoate

Abstract
|
|
|
The treatment trial of Trichostrongylus orientalis infection was carried out with Pyrantel pamoate to school children and inhabitants in Korea. Pyrantelpamoate tablet was orally administered as a single dose of 10. 0 mg per kg body weight to a total of 61 Trichostrongylus orientalis infected cases (1.81%) selected out of 3180 collected stool specimens, only 55 cases were followed up after treatment to provide with analysis 6 in this study.
The results were obtained as follows;
The egg negative conversion rate on Trichostrongylus oriental is was 95% and egg reduction rate was 95.9%, four weeks following the treatment. Side effects in drug administration were not found. This study confirms the high efficacy and safety of Pyrantel pamoate in the treatment of Trichostrongylus orientalis infection.
